Except the Lord build the house….

July 24th, 2006

“Except the Lord build the house, he labors in vain that builds it.”

I don’t think I have ever been more aware of that than I am today. A young woman came knocking on our door. She told us that she was a Jehovah’s Witness, but she was asking if anyone could tell her what it means to be ‘born again’. We explained from the Word of God, John 3:16, and she accepted Christ as Lord of her life.

Three young men came to our house who had just moved into the area and were looking for a place to fellowship. They were worship leaders, musicians and teachers. “God added daily to the chuch.”

At this time, we are in our 4th Sunday service with the new church and have an active Bible study in the church on Wednesday evenings and a cell group in a community nearby. God is blessing us as we wait upon Him. There are hungry people here; hungry for the move of God.

Back Home Again in Fiji!

July 4th, 2006

Back home again in Fiji and how great it is, when the days are cool and the nights are cold. God is moving and we are glad!

The team spent 4 days in Labasa ministering and encouraging the saints there. The Lord used Pastor Westberry to revive all of us and give us a new view for the vision that God has given us. Bulileka, our village church is very much a blessing to us. One of the ladies who was prayed for, stood in for her husband who had a serious stomach surgery and it had become infected. We laid hands on her and prayed for her; the next night she told us that her husband had a vision at the same time we were praying, of someone laying hands on his stomach and so he was instantly healed. Even when we left, he was doing fine. Pastor Sam is doing well with the Fijian Church. It’s harvest time in Fiji and he is busy in the cane field, but still doing the work of God.

Nadi Graduation 2006

We just had our first graduation in Nadi, Fiji and it was truly beautiful. Our speaker was Pastor Westberry and his words of encouragement and prophecies over the students were awesome! We had a good turn out for the graduation, as people came from three churches, as well as the students’ loved ones and friends. Susanna Graduates There were tears and a lot of smiles that night as they received their diplomas. Pastor Viri’s ladies from the New Life Worship Center hosted the graduation dinner, not forgetting the Lovo that was prepared by Pastor Simeli and Brother Save, one of our students. Meraya and the girls had fun decorating the church with palms and flowers and the school colours, blue and gold. It made us proud and a little sad when the students marched by candlelight down the aisles in their blue caps and gowns singing “carry your candle”.

The new classes will begin the second week of July and we have made plans to send teams to different islands during this summer. We are looking forward to our guests from the U.S.

We also have word from the Philippines that the schools are doing well and they are looking forward to our team coming over there in October. Our intercessory prayer group is spending time in praying for the upcoming events and we are requesting our prayer partners to keep us in a continual prayer for this ministry. We will try to be faithful in the updates for this website.
